FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Led by double-doubles from freshman Hilary Andrews (Tipp City, Ohio) and sophomore Miranda Kolb (Holt, Mich.), the Bryant University volleyball team completed its sweep of Sacred Heart Invitational competition, toppling host SHU, 3-2, Sunday morning at the Pitt Center.
Despite being led by the Pioneers (3-3) in nearly every statistical category, the Bulldogs continued to prove they had the heart to get the job done, winning their fourth-straight game en route to a 5-1 record in their first season of Division I competition. [more]
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Bryant University volleyball team continued its dominance in its new home in Division I, sweeping its two Saturday games of this weekend's Sacred Heart University Invitational in Fairfield, Conn.
The Bulldogs (4-1) started the day with an early game against the University of Hartford (1-4), winning soundly in three sets. Freshman Jazmin Stoner (Durango, Colo.) led Bryant for the fourth-straight game, registering 10 kills, tying sophomore Adrienne Boss (Dracut, Mass.) for the team high.
Senior co-captain Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.) led the team with 14 digs, while the Bulldogs' other senior captain, Maureen Atkins (Fenton, Mo.) registered nine. Rookie Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.) recorded a pair of solo blocks, while five other Bulldogs recorded a solo block of their own. Miranda Kolb's (Holt, Mich.) 31 assists led the game. [more]
