EASTON, Mass. - Bryant University senior standout Nicole Radzik captured the overall individual title in leading the Bulldogs to ninth place at the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Cross Country Championships held Sunday at Stonehill College. Radzik, who has now won four individual titles in meets this fall, finished the 5K course in a season-best time of 18 minutes, 28 seconds, beating out Bentley junior Melissa Nash who was second in 18:40.
Freshman Jennifer Denise was next to cross the line for the Bulldogs, finishing 38th in 20:48. Casey Fenwick placed 47th overall in 21:18 while Amanda Staples (62nd, 22:06), Mary Sanker (73rd, 22:38), and Carey Fitzgerald (75th, 22:41) rounded out the Bryant runners.
The Bulldogs earned a total of 221 points to place ninth. Stonehill won the overall team title with 38 points to edge runner-up UMass Lowell. Bentley placed third.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs placed fifth as a team with 171 points. Bryant's Nathaniel Green was the top Bulldog performer on the men's side, finishing 26th overall in 27:11. Tom Casey was next in 32nd at 27:35 with teammate Justin Getts close behind in 35th place in a time of 27:47.
Peter Jacques (37th, 27:53), Chris Kelleher (41st, 28:05), Alan Waters (48th, 28:29), and Eric Haywood (51st, 28:47) rounded out the scoring.
Stonehill and UMass Lowell shared first place team honors, each finishing with 35 points. Southern Connecticut and Bentley finished third and fourth respectively.
