NEW BRITAIN, CT- The Bryant University mens cross-country team finished 7th while the women finished 13th out of 14 teams at the Central Connecticut State University Mini-Meet on Saturday. Up next for both teams will be the Northeast Conference Championships November 1 at West Long Branch, N.J.

Cross Country Teams Compete at Albany Invitational
The Bryant University mens and womens cross country teams took part in the University at Albany Cross Country Invitational. The men, competing in the 8K Championship race, finished 12th out of 22 teams competing while the women placed fourth.

WOMENS CROSS-COUNTRY FINISHES 5TH, MEN 7TH AT FAIRFIELD INVITATIONAL
FAIRFIELD, Conn.- Freshman Kat Ragone (Bourne, Mass.) led the way for the Bryant University womens cross-country team, finishing 36th with a time of 21:14.45 as the Bulldogs finished fifth at the Fairfield Invitational in their first meet at the Division I level. Senior Tom Casey (New Windsor, N.Y.) was the high finisher for the men in 19th place with a final time of 26:44. The womens team finished with a total of 163 points and a time of 1:48:39.20 in the 5k race, while the men had 161 points and a total time of 2:18:14.00 in the 8k.

BRYANT TO HOST 8TH ANNUAL SHAWN M. NASSANEY MEMORIAL RACE HOMECOMING WEEKEND, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14
SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- More than 1,000 runners and walkers are expected to descend on the Bryant University campus on Sunday, September 14th, when the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Foundation and Bryant University host the eighth-annual Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Cross Country Race/Walk. The race starts at 1 p.m.
The race is held in memory of the Bulldogs' former cross country captain -- a 1998 graduate of Bryant who was a casualty of United Airlines Flight 175 on Sept. 11, 2001. The event is coordinated by the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Foundation, which was established to raise funds for the endowed Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Foundation.
The first race, held on Oct. 21, 2001, drew approximately 400 runners, and for the eighth consecutive year in 2008 it will be the closing staple to the annual Bryant Homecoming festivities.
