SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University women’s lacrosse senior Lauren Britton (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) and baseball redshirt-sophomore Jimmy Titus (Stafford, Conn.) have been selected as the Navigant Credit Union Athletes of the Week.
Britton recorded two goals, two assists and 12 draw controls in Wednesday’s 18-13 win over Canisius to move the Bulldogs to 4-1 in the month of March. The 12 draws ranked second in a single game in program history and moved Britton within one career draw of her sister Nicole’s program record. Britton has posted four of the top five single-game draw control totals in Bryant’s Division I era over her last five contests.
Titus went 11-for-20 with three home runs, three doubles, 14 runs batted in and nine runs scored over four games last week. He had the best offensive game in program history against Hartford as he went 5-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBI and five runs scored as he tied single-game program records for hits, RBI and runs scored. Titus was named a National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and Perfect Game for his effort.
