SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University field hockey freshman Marijn Jaarsma (Uithoorn, Netherlands) and football redshirt-senior Price Wilson (Marrieta, Ga.) have been selected as the Navigant Credit Union Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16.
Jaarsma played all 140 minutes in the cage for the Bulldogs over the weekend, recording her second career shutout in a 2-0 win Sunday at Colgate. The freshman from the Netherlands made four saves in the win over the Raiders, two days removed from a 12-save effort Friday at No. 25 Albany. Jaarsma was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for her performance during the week.
Wilson lifted Bryant to a 37-27 win over Marist Saturday in the first-ever night game at Beirne Stadium. The Georgia native completed 32 of 50 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns in the victory over the Red Foxes. The 32 completions rank third in a single game in program history, while the 375 passing yards are good for fifth. Wilson surpassed the 4,000-yard mark for his career in the win.
