Bryant football announces first 10 members of Class of 2022

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University football head coach James Perry has announced the first 10 members of the Class of 2022 that will join the Bulldogs next fall.

The Class of 2022 includes student-athletes from four different states, the first Canadian recruit in program history and six from New England. There is one running back, one wide receiver, three offensive linemen, one linebacker and four defensive backs in the class.

"We are excited about this early signing period and the terrific players that we are adding to the mix," Perry said. "We feel that we have some of the best student-athletes in the country coming to play for us, and this group reflects exactly what we are working towards in becoming the best program in the FCS."

Personal: The son of Marian and Dr. Tai Adeboboye … Has two brothers and a sister.

Tyler Allen | CB | 5-11 | 175 | Hartford, Conn. | Rockville High School

Allen was a four-year varsity letterwinner for head coach AJ Taddio at Rockville High … Tied the school record for the longest touchdown reception … Earned all-conference honors … Also a three-year letterwinner in outdoor track and field.

Personal: The son of Tommy Allen and Shonrecca Foy.

Jesse Cohen | OL | 6-3 | 251 | Pittsburgh, Pa. | Fox Chapel High School

Cohen was a three-year starter at left tackle for head coach Tom Loughran at Fox Chapel High … Helped his team to the playoffs for the first time in three seasons as a senior … First-team all-conference offensive lineman as a senior … Honorable mention all-conference as a junior … High Honors student.

Played his football at Harding High School in Bridgeport … First athlete from Bridgeport Military Academy to play at the Division I level … Captain as a senior … Played on both the offensive and defensive line … Posted 47 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, four sacks, 10 QB hurries, two forced fumbles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown … Two-time offensive lineman of the year at Harding … Outstanding Cadet Award … Platoon leader.

Heidtke was a three-year varsity letterwinner and a two-year starter for EJ Perry at Andover High … Blind side offensive tackle for three playoff-qualifying teams and a state semi-final team … Two-time All-Merrimack Valley selection … Two-time Eagle Tribune All-Star, Boston Herald All-Star and Boston Globe All-Star … Also earned four varsity letters in wrestling and was a state place winner in heavyweight … Four-year member of the club rugby team … Honor Roll student.

Three-year varsity letterwinner for Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey … Starting quarterback as a sophomore and also started at running back and wide receiver … Three-year team captain … Also captain of the basketball team … Led his team in touchdowns, interceptions, receiving yards, return yards and rushing yards … Holds Section V record for most receiving yards in a game … Averaged 90 yards per game and 23.6 yards per catch as a senior … Posted 223 receiving yards and two touchdowns to set school record … Also posted longest play (91 yards) in school history … Member of Black Scholars Program.

A two-year varsity letterwinner for head coach Brent Williams at Catholic Memorial … Catholic Conference All-Star … Team MVP … Boston Herald All-Scholastic … Caught 30 passes for 494 yards and three touchdowns as a senior … Posted five interceptions, five pass breakups and two fumble recoveries on defense as a senior … Helped team to a victory in the 2016 Pumpkin Bowl … Honor Roll student.
