SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head football coach Chris Merritt is pleased to announce the addition of Sean Cullen to the football staff for the upcoming season.
Cullen will serve as the Director of Football Operations.
"We were able to get Sean from Colgate where he did an exceptional job for a program that advanced to the FCS quarterfinals this past fall," Merritt said. "He's a hard worker and we are excited to have him as part of the Bryant family."
Cullen comes to Smithfield after serving in the same role at Colgate University last season. The Raiders won the Patriot League title and advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs. Cullen, who was the first Director of Operations in program history, assisted with administrative tasks including video exchange, recruiting, practice facilitation, travel and meals.
"I want to thank Coach Merritt for giving me the opportunity to join the Bryant staff," Cullen said. "I am excited to get to know both the football and Bryant University community this semester and work towards the 2019 season!"
Cullen arrived at Colgate after his graduation from Fordham, where he was a football operations assistant during his student days. He assisted the director of football operations with tasks such as recruiting events, coaching clinics, team meetings and game day activities.
Cullen also spent the summer of 2017 as a football operations intern for the New England Patriots.
Cullen graduated cum laude from Fordham in 2018 with a degree in public accounting. He earned Dean's List honors in two academic years.
