SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's lacrosse freshman Luke Caracciolo (Centreville, Va.) has been selected as Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 10, as announced Monday by the NEC office.
Caracciolo had a stellar debut in Black & Gold Sunday at Bucknell, as the freshman goalie turned aside 16 Bison shots and collected eight ground balls. The 16 saves were the most by a Bulldog since James Werner stopped 17 Hobart shots in 2017.
Caracciolo is the first Bryant goalie to win an NEC Rookie of the Week nod since Tom Carey and Gunnar Waldt both earned the honor in 2013.
Bryant opens its 2019 home slate Saturday when the Bulldogs host Ocean State Cup foe Providence. The noon start will be played at Beirne Stadium. Tickets for Saturday's game are available by clicking HERE.
