SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Five Bryant University men's swimmers will be headed to Annapolis, Md. for the 2018 College Swimming Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championship this weekend at the United States Naval Academy.

Seniors Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) and Benon Boyadjian (Middlebury, Conn.), junior Tavish Boyle (Springfield, N.J.), sophomore Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.) and freshman Matthew Mays (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) will compete with other conference champions from around the country in the four-day meet.

Boyle (100 breast, 100 IM, 200 breast), Mays (100 fly, 100 back, 200 fly) and Schulte (100 breast, 100 IM, 200 breast) will all be competing in three events over the course of the three days, while Davis (200 free, 500 free) and Boyadjian (100 fly, 100 free) will swim in two races.

In addition to the individual races, the five will be competing in the 200, 400 and 800 free relays, as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays.

This meet will consist of swimmers who met NCAA Championship time standards but did not receive an invitation to the meet. Additionally, both individual event and relay swimmers can automatically qualify for the meet by virtue of winning the event at their conference championship or by attaining other time standards established for the meet.
