Bulldogs, Crusaders to battle in Senior Day matinee

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team closes out their 2017-18 regular season with a Senior Day meet with Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon.

Last Time Out

The Bulldogs put up four personal-best performances and an additional nine season-bests in a 183-115 defeat of Rhode Island on Wednesday night. Junior Jillian Rice (Trumbull, Conn.) won all four of her races, while senior Mackenzie Kirk (San Diego, Calif.), sophomore Alaina Scifo (Ipswich, Great Britain) and freshman Elin Svärd (Falun, Dalarna, Sweden) all added two victories.

Last Meet with Holy Cross

The Bulldogs won all 16 events in last season's meeting in a dominant 224-74 victory over the Crusaders last season in Worcester, Mass. Junior Ann Burdick (Glenmont, N.Y.) won the 1-meter and placed second in the 3-meter to help lead the Bulldogs in the diving circuit.

A bit about the Crusaders

  • Holy Cross is coming off a pair of victories against Providence and Springfield and is looking to close out their last meet before Patriot League Championships on a high note.
  • Reigning Patriot League Diver of the Week Casey Sherman won both the 1-meter (247.27) and 3-meter (270.45) against Springfield on Saturday.
  • Brianna Larnard took home a pair of wins and a second place finish in the victory over Springfield.
